Stroud Society of Model Engineers

Established 1972

Member of the Federation of Model Engineers

Objects

To promote and encourage among its members an interest in craftsmanship through model engineering and allied interests.

In order to carry out these functions we require a wide variety of skills. See here if you would like to help.

Activities

The society has an 850 ft groundlevel miniature railway (5" and 3.5") in Stratford Park, Stroud which members can use at any time.

Events are organised at the track during Summer months to encourage as many people as possible to run their engines and turn up for a natter. Training can be arranged for those who need it. Public passenger hauling is held on the last Sunday afternoon in each month, April - Oct.

Events details

During the winter regular meetings are held with speakers invited to talk on a variety of mainly engineering subjects.

The meetings are held in the Rodborough Community Hall, Stroud and are open to non-members.
